Team Nigro 2007
Team Nigro History
Team Nigro was started 10 years ago by Ron Nigro. Back then it was just Ron, Shelly and his kart travelling around the Midwest racing wherever he could get some track time. During this time frame Ron raced shifter karts in a very competitive field. Ron's wife Shelly has been supportive of him since day one and comes to all of his races if possible.
Many years later Ron got two of his daughters, Ronni Jo and Nicole, involved in the karting scene as a way for the family to spend some time together and still enjoy kart racing. Ronni Jo and Nicole have been racing in the novice class for a few years. Ron, Ronni Jo, and Nicole have won many trophies over the years.
Recently Ron decided to move up to a bigger class of kart (250cc Superkart) to test his skill and to challenge his constant need for speed. In his new kart Ron has been clocked at 125+ mph on some courses. Ron is currently working on his second Superkart so that he can have a spare on-site during race weekends. For the 2008 season Ron will be running with the USSK as much as he can. He is looking forward to competing with some of the best drivers in this circuit.
In 2007 Ron finally talked his brother John into racing with him. John was running in the over 35 SSX Can Class while still learning the basics of kart racing. As the 2008 season approaches John will be moving up to 125 shifter class. That means just one thing; another speed junkie in the family. Also new for 2008 Loryn will be joining Team Nigro full time running in the SSX Can division. Jessica will also get a chance to join us for one or two races depending on schedules.
We have been working hard to get everything in top shape so the family can continue to race together.
